The PM-1703 has the standard functions of the PM-1703GN. It can be used to search for, detect and locate gamma sources and special nuclear materials.

Radiation levels and gamma levels, that exceed the alarm threshold are stored in the non-volatile memory providing a history of the instrument's operations.

This data can be retrieved using the IRDA port on a PC or a simple IRDA adapter.

The user can obtain information pertaining to the on/off time, times of alarms, level of radiation, etc.

Since the instruments differ in sensitivity and size configurations, the individual can select the instrument that is most suitable for their situation and specific application.
